Field day is fast approaching and I have been working every evening so far
this week
preparing for it. I have done the final tests on the 13 and 23 cm
transverters, packed up
some of the equipment and made a schedule to be sure I don't miss anything
(especially
the food). Tomorrow I will begin to accumulate the equipment in the garage
so it will
be easier to load. There will be a great deal of equipment!!!

I have three 48 quart coolers and one 18 quart coolers that I will fill with
ice at work on
Friday. I will need two or three coolers to put the food and drinks in and
finish filling with
ice on Friday. If you wish to bring a cooler or two please let me know.
Please mark your
cooler so we will know who it belongs to.

I will bring some eggs and thick sliced bacon for breakfast on Saturday
morning so plan
on being there. You may have to cook your own breakfast but with thick
sliced bacon,
who cares. We will also have bread, jelly and butter. I will bring some
grits because I
have been chastised in earlier field days for not having grits. I may bring
a few potatoes
too. And don't forget the coffee. We will have some if we have to buy it but
I believe we
will have a generator going and will be able to fire up the old reliable
coffee pot.

Are you listening Tom?????

Remember, picnic time is around noon so get there in plenty of time to bond
with the
other members. Bring a covered dish if you wish but it is not mandatory. We
will have
plenty of chips, hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks for all. Plan to operate a
few hours
if you can either on the HF phone, CW or GOTA station. Schedule your
operation
hours with Rod (KC4MMR) for the GOTA station, Steve (KS4WA) for the FONE
station and Mark (WB9UJS) for the CW station.

If you need directions to Davis Park just give someone a call on the Brandon
VHF
repeater (147.165 +, 136.5 tone) and they will guide you in.

I am looking forward to having a great time and I hope you all are too.

Tony
