[AReU] January, 2004 meeting

Well, time marches on and it's just a day or two until another
fine AReU meeting.

The NEXT Tuesday we get to, Tuesday January 6, 2004 we will have
a SPECIAL meeting at our normal meeting place at our usual time.
   (see below for details)

This will be a special meeting for two reasons, first Tom K4PQD shall
present the program, it is about properly "Grounding our equipment" and
specific aspects to how the grounding is best accomplished.

Secondly, as most of us know, we use this "LIST SERVER,"
the "AReU E-mail reflector" as we like to call it, which is
provided by AL Waller K3TKJ and his www.qsl.net/qth.net web site
servers system.
We agreed to send him $50 each year for the use of OUR private
reflector. We typically send him more than our promised amount
every January. He has experienced the same loss of dollar value
that you and I suffer from. We need to do better this year as
his needs (operating costs) have mounted recently and we HAMS
are all he has to help him serve HAMS world wide.
HAM's world wide are regular users of Al's mailing lists.
BTW Al has helped HAMS in other countries set up the same kind
of system he has here, this has taken some of the load off of his
system and lowered the Internet traffic between Europe and America.

Please come to THIS meeting, THIS Tuesday,
PLEASE help us, help Al. I shall.

01-06-04 NEXT Tuesday is our next meeting.

REGULAR PLACE Bell Shoals Baptist Church

REGULAR TIME 7 pm RC, 7:30 the program begins

join us at the Bell Shoals Baptist church (north end) at 7 for RC
