It's that time again. Come on down to the BARS picnic at Davis Park on
Saturday, the
17 th of April for the big event.
There will be plenty of food available and if you want to bring a covered
dish, that will be
fine. If you don't have the time to prepare a covered dish, buy something at
the grocery
store. The club will supply hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, drinks and all of
the trimmings.
If you don't want to bring anything, just don't!!!!! We will be overjoyed to
see you anyway.
I will bring my Elecraft QRP rig and will have the famous 80 thru 10 meter
doublet set up
for your enjoyment. I will also bring my little Bencher key for the CW
enthusiasts.
If it is anything like last fall we will have a great time and will be
"bursting at the seams" when
the eatin' is done.
Seriously though, come on down and enjoy the fellowship of the folks in the
Brandon Club.
You will almost surely enjoy the nice weather at this time of year and you
will not meet
finer folks anywhere.
Directions to Davis Park are as follows:
Go north on Parsons Ave. off of highway 60. Go to the railroad tracks and
continue
across them. On your left after crossing the tracks you will notice a tan
stucco fence
enclosing a sub division. Continue on until the fence ends and there will be
an antique
shop sign on the left side of the road. Just after the antique shop sign you
will see the
entrance to Davis Park. continue down the entrance road for about 1/4 mile
and you
will see the picnic area on the left next to the children's playground. If
you are coming
from Seffner on Parsons Davis Park will be on your right after crossing
Jersey Ave. If
you get to the railroad tracks you have gone too far.
Get on the Brandon VHF repeater if you need further directions
(147.165 + with 136.5 hz tone).
