If the weather holds, it looks like we will have a pre-Field Day antenna
testing party at Davis Park this Saturday (June 14, 2003). Ed is planning
on getting the pavillion up among the trees early Saturday morning.
I will be over around 7:30 AM with a thermos of coffee and some
breakfast for Ed and myself. If anyone would like to come early just
stop by somewhere and get a breakfast to go and come join us. I would
assume that this would replace the weekly breakfast at the Village inn.
If the weather is bad then the Village Inn would be the place to show
up. A call on the Brandon repeater will undoubtly get the information
you need to get to the right place.
Rod (KC4MMR) has an antenna he would like to check out and I have
an antenna that I got from an estate sale to try out. It looks like a G5RV
of some sort but I have never seen one exactly like it. Rod is bringing
some "jet line" for hanging the antennas in the trees so we should be
able to get them up pretty high. I will bring my fishing outfit to get
the anchor points as high as possible. Ed is talking about using a bow
and arrow to launch the "tag line". Come on down to see the results.
Watch where you stand when we are "launching" the "tag line".
I plan on packing up around noon and I can't forsee us not being done
with the testing by then.
Hope to see you folks there.
Tony
