Well folks the numbers are in and I have a total for you.
I will get the entry forms and other necessary information
mailed tomorrow to meet the deadline (although not by much).

The following are the statistics:

1. CW had 601 contacts for 2404 total points.
2. GOTA got 110 contacts for 220 points and 100 bonus points
for making more that 100 contacts. That's 320 points.
3. Phone made 357 contacts for 714 points.
4. Two satellite contacts were made for 4 points plus 100 bonus
    points.
5. Three stations (CW, PHONE and GOTA) were operated on
non commercial mains for 300 points.
6. Media publicity got us 100 points.
7. Copying the ARRL Field Day message counted for 100 points.
8. The ATV station, APRS station and the Packet station netted us
     300 points.
9. Being in a public location was worth 100 points.
10. Having an WCF official visit us was 100 points.
11. Having a public information booth was 100 points.
12. Each formal NT message that was handled by Mike (KB4JHU)
was worth 10 points (7 were handled).
13. Five solar powered contacts were worth 100 points.

Finally, our total claimed score was 4716 points. Not bad for relatively
poor band conditions. Maybe next year we can tweak our 80 and 40 meter
antennas on the HF and CW stations to have a more commanding signal
on these bands.

I of course want to thank all of the participants in the BARS field day
this year. Without you guys it just would not be worth the effort. I
particulary
enjoy seeing the folks have a good time and work hard. It is truly a
"labor of love" for me and I hope it is for everyone else. I think that our
activities this year spurred some activity is some youngsters and at least
one of the young people that operated the GOTA station recently got his
technician license and is on the Brandon VHF repeater regularly. He also
attended the last club meeting.

Here's looking to a great Field Day experience in 2004!!!!!!!!
