Guess what!!!!!

It's already time for the BARS meeting this Thursday. The date is 
07/17/2003 and the time is 7:30 PM. 

Hope everyone is planning to come on down to the Bloomingdale 
West Recreation Center on Canoga Park Drive in the Bloomingdale-
West sub division and join in the fun. I will bring the coffee and 
donuts as always plus I plan on bringing some other goodies to 
see how you all like a little diversity. I was thinking about some 
cookies or maybe some pastries. Heck, I don't know what I will 
run across. Come on down and find out. 

Our fearless leader is in Michigan so he will be notably absent and 
I will do the best that I can to fill his shoes. We have tentatively 
scheduled a security expert to give a talk about how to protect 
our property from theft. I have not been able to get in contact 
with him yet so I will let you know what is happening as soon 
as possible. 

I have not yet completed the Field Day paper work but I may 
finish it before the meeting. I'm not making any promises but I will 
try. This years Field Day was a great one. We did not make as 
many points as last year but I think that we learned some lessons 
on antennas for 40 and 80 meters. I believe that the 40 meter antenna 
is probably the most important antenna for the HF stations especially 
if 20 meters "gives up the ghost" during the night. I would like to 
hear from some of the HF operators about this opinion.
