Guess what folks!!!!!!!!
The January meeting of AREU is next Tuesday at the Bell Shoals Baptist
Church.
Meeting time is around 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM (we're flexible just so long as
you
show up). I will be bringing my 2 meter to 23 cm transverter. It is still
sort of in
shambles but all of the parts are ready to go and are in the case. I will
bring a
2 meter signal source and hopefully someone will have a receiver for 1268
MHz
FM. Ron (KA4INM) said that he will bring his spectrum analyzer to look at
the
spectral purity of the transmitter. It only puts out about 100 mw in its
present
state. The transverter will drive a power amplifier mounted close to the
antenna to minimize feed line loss. The receive preamplifier will be mounted
with the power amplifier near the antenna.
I just checked my tracking program and the AO40 satellite will not
co-operate
with a good pass for the meeting. Sooner or later we will have a good pass
and some of you guys can make a few satellite contacts.
Ed mentioned that he may bring something for "show and tell" also. I'm sure
it
will be interesting as usual.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you folks there and also having a great
time.
