[AReU] AREU Meeting Tuesday Night

The time is here again. Next Tuesday, 08/05/2003, is the monthly meeting 
of AREU at the Bell Shoals Baptist Church. It begins at 7:00 PM and is 
at the North end of the church building on Overhill Road. Get on the 
Brandon repeater if you need directions and someone will be monitoring. 
If you have any "show and tell" items that might be interesting to the 
group then bring them along. 

I have my AO40 equipment back up and running so I will be looking for 
someone to talk with. Anyone interested in getting an AO40 station set 
up just bring what you have and we will see about getting you the rest 
of the stuff you need to get on the air. There are three of the AREU 
group that have operated AO40 and a couple of others that are very 
close. They have the equipment but have not taken the time to set it up 
yet. Another two or three members have monitored AO40 QSOs but 
do not have an uplink transmitter working yet. 

I came upon a lap top computer the other day and I have loaded MMSSTV 
and PSK 31 on it. I will bring my Elecraft K2 and we will see if we can 
get some SSTV pictures and some PSk 31 QSOs. I have put my K2 
transceiver in a foam filled aluminum suit case and it looks pretty good. 

I hope to see a large group of folks Tuesday. We always have a good 
time.
