I have been working on a networking project the last few days and I have not
had my E-Mail list available. I have had many problems doing a relatively
simple
task but I finally have it under control. My problem was to stick with a
vendor
that does some things flawlessly and other things unbelievably inept. After
going
through several hours on the phone with "tech service" and another couple of
days just trying different things, I gave up and purchased a different
system.
After about 45 minutes the new system was working fine and I'm back to
"normal" (whatever that is). I am the proud owner of my very own DSL system
that I like very much and have maintained my old E-Mail address which would
have been a nightmare to change.
I enjoyed the TARC fest last Saturday. I purchased a few items to go in my
"junque" box for future use and a perfectly good HTX 202 with a dead
memory battery. The HTX 202 is my favorite HT for general use and I now
have three of them "just in case".
I am looking forward to a meeting of some BARS folks at Davis Park next
Saturday.
I would suspect that we will gather around 9:00 am (after breakfast at the
Village
Inn) when the temperature is not too high. We will be working on some
antennas
for Field Day. We will assemble and test two tri-banders plus a wire antenna
that I have been carrying around in the back of my car for several months.
As an
extra added attraction the Florida QSO party will be in progress and I will
bring
my "YO-YO" antenna, FT100 and a stout battery for anyone that might want to
participate. We will use the club call (K4TN). I don't know where we will
set up
the station because we are not going to try to secure a pavilion but I'm
sure we
can figure out something.
