Ed called me tonight and gave me a rough estimate of his 
forthcoming "adventures" at the VA hospital this month. 

The information follows. 

The operation will take place on September 10 at 7:30 AM. 
It should last about 4.5 hours at which Ed will be returned to 
the 4 th floor of the VA hospital for recovery. 

Don't attempt to call him at the hospital before the evening of
September 11 th as he probably will not be in any condition 
to carry on a rational conversation (he sometimes gets 
irrational now even when he is not under sedation-hi-hi). He 
said that he will probably be awake enough by then to talk 
to folks. 

He will be transferred to the rehabilitation ward (2C-North) 
on the 13 th if everything goes well. 

Hopefully he will be released to go home on the 18 th. 

We'll be glad to hear him back on the Brandon repeater 
again.  

Everybody please keep Ed in your thoughts and prayers.
