I finally got the TSI parts in today from Bob in Texas. After I get the mess
cleaned up from the closet shelf crashing down I will get the rest of the
TSI converters going. That looks like late this week. Maybe I will have
some of them ready to distribute at the breakfast next Saturday. Don't
take that to the bank though. If I have work problems, all bets are off.
Looks like AO40 will be cooperating for the Brandon Amateur Radio Society
spring picnic on March 23 rd. The distance will be rather long but the
pointing
angle looks good and we should be able to get the beacon up to apogee. The
good times start at about 8:00 am and continue until after 1:00 pm. The
folks
that want to test their antennas for the downlink should bring then and
we'll
try em out.
You know the drill. Bring a covered dish and a BIG appetite to Davis Park on
March 23 rd. at the regular place. The club will supply drinks, hamburgers,
hot dogs, condiments, potato chips, toothpicks, etc.
I believe that the cooking will start around mid day so plan to be there
about
11:30 am until 12:00 noon. Don't worry if you are early or late, there will
be
plenty for all.
Ed or someone will probably bring an HF station to play around with. We had
a pretty good station at one of the picnics last year and made several
contacts
with Europe.
Talk in will be on the Brandon VHF repeater.
