[AReU] Tuesday's Meeting

I just got my monthly reminder from Ron (KA4INM) that AREU will be meeting
next Tuesday.
Thanks Ron, I have been known to forget.

I will bring two converted Cal. Amp. AO40 down converters for a 144 MHz IF.
I would bring the TSI units but
the parts have not come in to get them converted. I have also purchased a
circuit board for a 12 volt to 24 volt step up converter. I have mounted it
in a nice project box from Radio Shack and have it working. It is better
that the one I used at the antenna testing in that it doesn't generate as
much low frequency RF hash. It also has a 2 amp output current rating. My
older one would handle about 500 ma.
The satellite is not cooperating with the AREU meeting time and will not
even be in view Tuesday evening.
I copied the beacon and heard my down link very strong a couple of days ago
so the bird is in good shape. It just has a very narrow window for
satisfactory communications. Unfortunately that window has been occurring
during the day when I am at work. We had a good pass this morning but I had
other obligations and couldn't get in on the action.

I hope someone can come up with some more "show and tell" as my offerings
are meager this month.

At any rate, I will be looking forward to just enjoying the company and
having a good time Tuesday night.
