I would like to thank Ron for the reminder of the AREU meeting. I am looking
forward to it very much.
I have an amplifier that I repaired for Fred (K4NWW). Are you gonna make it
Fred?
I have a harmonic mixer that Ed gave me the other day and I have cleaned it
up and researched it to some extent. I will have the mixer at the meeting
and
a small amount of data that I gathered on it. I am still looking for more
data
to see if it will be useful in creating a microwave transverter for the
higher
frequencies.
I have several articles on Alford Slot antennas. They are amazingly easy to
build. They are omni-directional and horizontally polarized. The gain isn't
much
however (about 1 to 2 dbi). They would be good for microwave beacons and
maybe ATV on the higher bands.
I have other data on parabolic antennas including information on figuring
out
the focal point of dishes (offset fed RCA and DSS dishes). I have the site
address available to get all of this information and even more by
downloading
some pdf files.
I will also bring a 400 to 1000 MHz log periodic antenna that I bought from
Kent
Britain (WA5VJB). It is the big brother to a .9 to 2.6 GHZ and a 2.1 to
6.5 GHz log periodic antenna that is also offered by Kent. I have examples
of all three types.
Looking forward to talking about Field Day also.
73
Tony
