The SCS modems are ones specifically made for either PinOak Digital or
SeaWave proprietary marine digital services. They identify as PTC-II,
but will run all but the latest firmware. They only have 512k memory,
not 2meg as the latest ones. I will get some pictures up on my website
today or tomorrow.

The price will be less than $400.00 w/cables, manual cd, shipped CONUS.
I am not trying to make any large profit on these things, just cover my
cost. I will check each one prior to shipment for functionality. They
will be sold on a no-return basis. Anyone not having packet experience
or who is really up to speed on packet may have some trouble at first
setting them up, but the manual is good and there is more info on the
web. I am setting one up right now, so I still have much to learn also.
The only thing I know for sure is that I cannot reach the San Antonio
Texas EOC from here on vhf even with a good antenna, so I need another
way.that is why I am involved with these modems.
My goal is to sell enough of these and make some on each one to get my
cost down for my own modem, since I am paying for the setup out of my
own pocket, no government money is being used.
In our local Texas ARES groups, I think there is agreement that
individual hams needn't have Pactor III capability, just the EOC's, vhf
packet is fine for the shelters, etc.
  Your mileage may vary.
Thanks, George W5GRG
