Here in Mason County Washington, we are presently in a trial period of using
FN Pack for our ARES/RACES/DEM/SAR packet communications. We want to use
packet for passing sensitive information since the news media so far is not
monitoring our packet transmissions and they do monitor all of our voice
transmission during SAR activities.

We are presently trying FN Pack to see how well that will work for us. Does
anyone else use FN Pack for emergency services type communications? If so,
how satisfied are you with this program? How difficult is it to use by
non-packet type amateur radio operators? Are there better programs
available?

Also does someone have an "Idiot Sheet" made up for FN Pack. If so, I would
like to get a copy of that "Idiot Sheet". Am looking for a one page
instruction sheet that will allow a novice in packet to be able to sit down
and follow the instructions on that one page sheet and be able to send
formal traffic between our ComVan and our EOC.

All inputs are welcome,
