What do people think of the current set of Group 1 ARL numbers?
I was interested to know how often people actually use them,
and if so whether they have been historically satisfactory for
most, or whether anyone wishes that there were more of them
to cover other "frequently transmitted messages".
Every year come SET planning time, this thought keeps entering
my mind.
These are some which I think about for an "ARL number wish list":
- I have arrived at my assigned location and station is ready
- Shelter at this location is running low on the following
supplies. Please make arrangements for delivery.
- There is misinformation spreading around regarding ______.
Disregard as it is incorrect.
Some ARL numbers for mutual aid activities:
- Request your ARES/RACES group to be in standby mode.
We may need to ask for amateur radio operators in your
area to assist.
- Please notify your ARES/RACES group that we have started a
net on ______. We are requesting a liaison from your group
to check in (this is sort of a variant on ARL 11)
- Please notify your ARES/RACES group that the net has
changed frequencies. We are now on _____.
- Please stress to your group that no operators are to travel
to the affected area without making prior arrangements
- The time shifts for the positions needing operators are
as follows. Please canvass your ARES/RACES group for their
availability over the next few days for these time slots.
- Required equipment for operators traveling to this location
are as follows
- The following operators have arrived safely at this location
- The following operators have completed their assignment
and are preparing to leave this location and return home
I know I can think of more, but hopefully people get the
idea...
