SBD-5 had only 2 channel MHF radio
SBD-6 added 4 channel VHF radio...
My question is, what was the 2 channel HF radio ?

Very likely the ATB/ARB, which turns up in more period photos than one would think. IIMHO, ATB/ARB parts and accessories are much harder to find because most of them actually got used. One somewhat-educated opinion, worth every cent you paid for it.
