Hi Dennis - nice idea for a display at CHRS... Unfortunately I don't have a TBY to offer, I donated mine to the Veterans Memorial Building in Danville, across the hills from Alameda. I did a Navaho Code Talkers display there a few years back, it was a hit with the visitors... Take a look at the post I wrote about it:  https://www.n6cc.com/navajo-code-talkers-display/

I have a functioning APR-1 radar surveillance receiver that I told Bart I would donate to CHRS.  I think you have a few tuning units for these.  I have to get over there and drop it off...
Cheers - have fun building the display..

Gentlemen,

I am with the California Historical Radio Society (CHRS).  We operate a non-profit museum in Alameda, CA devoted to the history of radio and wireless communication.  We have many active programs and are currently building out interactive displays.  One such display will be a working TBY transceiver that will highlight the role of the Navajo Code Talkers.  We have a TBY-1 and are looking for a companion TBY-1.  It does not have to be working (we have experts to get it running) though it should be a good overall condition.

Note: We are aware that all the models can be made electrically compatible, but wish a matched mate for our TBY-1.

If there is an example out there please contact us off list.  We have nice later model TBYs to trade (TBY-4,7,8) and would pay shipping both ways.  Or outright purchase for a reasonable price.  Or as a donation.  We are a 501(c)3.

If you could help us set up this working display to tell an important story, we would be very appreciative.
