On Ebay, a BC-224 that once belonged to Henry Engstrom. He left us way too early. Seeing his handwritten
note inside the
radio the cursive style instantly reminded me of mail from him. I could not see what the -suffix
model was, but it is not one
with the no LF band. Good luck on getting $475 for it. I think only one usused in original shipping
box would bring that…
I did see one such, around maybe 1980, at ‘Amateur Radio Supply ‘ in Georgetown, Seattle WA. It was
$125 then, which was
too rich for me, at that time. I probably have enough variants now, including the BC-224-A and the
KW model with the
squelch box on top. I still like the models most with no LF band. The bandspread is slightly better,
not much but slightly,
in the no – LF models.
