I think i am going to retain one RU receiver and coils for 80 and 40. I am interested to see if i can devise a way to make these more selective and hence actually usable on-air. Perhaps changing the detector to a product detector; changing the CW osc to a controlled feedback device; or adding a coil - less Q multiplier like in the Pat Hawker RSGB book. The second two require some additional external box containing a control pot. One complication to keep in mind is that the CW osc operates at 1/2 the tuned frequency, which may make thinking up a solution even more fun.
