Decades back, Harry Lewis, ARRL SCM for WA, had a story in 'Worldradio' mag abt a radio op flying into AK and the liaison transmitter failed, so he used the BC-221 to call the airfield. As i write this i realize there's a problem with his story that hadn't dawned on me before. I am sure he has left this plane of existance so i can feel relatively guilt free for saying this, but i know of 2 other instances where he told a whopper, but at least an intersting one. Perhaps i will find that Worldradio article and scan and post it here.
