Hi Everyone
I needed to replace the dynamotor plug on one of my ARA receivers as the flower petals on one of the pins was missing. Dave AB5S sent me a replacement connector – Thanks Dave!
I proceeded to remove the old connector.
The connector from Dave was used, so it took a bit of bending and use of a Dremel Tool to get it to fit into the hole, but a bit of patience yielded a connector that slid into the hole with little effort.
The question was how to secure it to the chassis. I had considered some glues or J B Weld but instead decided on a purely mechanical solution.
I used some spare 3x56 x ¼ screws and put then into the tops of the
threaded sleeves that are used to secure L-14 under the chassis:
This worked nicely, but I soon discovered there was no room in the sleeves to secure L-14 from the bottom. It took me several minutes to figure this out as I was having a devil of a time securing L-14, and that's usually not an issue. My apologies to the Lord for some of the words I was uttering.....
Searching in my hardware stash, I discovered some longer 3x56 screws, 3/8 inches long.. I used them to secure L-14 from the bottom, and they protruded above the sleeves (barely enough) to put some nuts on them to hold the plug in place:

This seems to provide a secure mechanical only solution.
The screws I used were 3x56 x 3/8, but ½ inch or longer would be better. With longer screws, I can use a washer to provide better overlap of the plug.
Might any of you have some that you could send me? Yes, I'm sure McMasster-Carr has them, but I just need 2 for now.... 4 would be super!
