Dave, I have a roll of Litz wire that looks just like the top and second photos in this website:

My roll does not specify the wire size ( stamped label numbers are faded)  but it is very, very fine.  Made in Nottingham, England!  I got it years ago from cleaning out a warehouse. 

There is a lot of it on my roll.  Probably a hundred feet or much more.  If you want it you can pay the postage and I'll mail it to you.  I'll never use it.
