They are vibration isolation mounts. If you don’t use them, you may get to listen to the dynamotor in your headsets via a microphonic tube. YMMV.

Well, that's ok they're not shock mounts as I don't plan to take the radio up in a B-17! All I want them to do is to allow the dynamotor to clamp onto them.
How do your replacements install?

This is not a critical issue for me as I do not use dynamotors with my Command sets; Even with additional bypass capacitors and more grounding, the noise is not palatable to my ears.....
