I do look forward to seeing an ATA/ARA set up working when you get done with it. I’m working on an ARC-5 set that will have both HF and VHF radios.

I don't know about the differences.   All I know is that the rear pin connections are the same as the BC-946.

The USN didn't standardize ARA and ARC 5 until the early 1960's.
