The Squires – Sanders top -end receivers SS-IBS and SS-1R used the IF 1000 kHz. I kind of wonder how that worked in, for example,

Seattle, KOMO 1000  50 kW. Would at least make it difficult to service the set out of cabinet. Years ago i talked to someone who said

he had built additional shielding into this receiver, which interested me greatly, but he was one of those people who are just not very

forthcoming and i got no details.

I have some SSB type filters out of a Sierra 128 Freq selective voltmeter. I think they’re around 2 or 2.5 MHz. These are sealed units.

I was just looking last night at them and thinking, i will never use them, nor will i ever encounter anyone who will, so they should go

in the recycle bin.
