I have re-capped more than 20 BC-348 receivers. Most were other than late war production J, N, and Q models. The resistors do, in fact, look different. The alignment caps in the J, N, and Q have held up far better than all the rest. Concur that the micamold caps absolutely need to be replaced. The bank of metal caps seem to do well over the years.  I have not paid perhaps enough attention to resistors, however, unless they were the ones on the rear of the "modules", that burn out when caps within these modules leak or short. Yes, each and every module module must be removed and re-capped too.  Of the remaining, typically '348R, receivers I have, I will have a close look when next they're opened.  But, these soldier on.

My experience rebuilding a BC-348R was that almost all the “Micamold” capacitors leaked like sieves – far worse problem than off-spec resistors!
