I remember a quite boring family trip to Pasadena CA around 1961. I went out for a walk in the downtown type area, what looked the
‘main drag’. I recall finding quite serendipitously an actual surplus store there, not a big place, just maybe like a small bakery or what.
A few things i still remember fondly. I saw nice clean green BC-1335. A bushel box of BC-611 chassis, all crammed in there looking like
packed sardines. A BC-453 in a bag, marked with depot overhaul data. I had no money, however. I also remember, the air was blue,
which seemed really crazy.
