Mike, N2MS, wrote, "today is the golden age of kit building". I can't say I agree. It may be an age of golden opportunities, or capabilities, but if there are not many people building kits (and I believe there are not) then I don't think it should be called a golden age. There's nothing at all like the era of Knight Kits, Heathkits, Eicos and so on. Those were big businesses with some big kits, whereas it seems kits these days are (with few exceptions) small products with small manufacturing (even just hobbyists) behind them.
