If it makes you feel any better, hams are not alone.

I went onto an O-gauge model railroad site, and the first post I saw was a discussion entitled, "The End of Our Hobby." Some of the model-train guys have been saying this for at least a decade. Attendance is down at train shows (just like at hamfests), and well-known collectors and dealers have passed away or closed up shop.
