Hi

As far as I know, Galvin / Motorola did not manufacture crystals during WWII.
Setting that up along with all the other expansion simply wasn’t possible. They
decided to set up the “empire” of little outfits making them to source their
massive needs.

They did indeed go into crystal manufacturing after the war. That ultimately
branched out into XO, TCXO and OCXO manufacturing as well. Some of
their production went into the open market. The vast majority of it was for
internal use.

Thank you to all who replied to my request for info on the mfr of these xtals during the war. I'll reply to each of you individually.
Scott mentioned Galvin being one who made the most. Haven’t come across one of their's..yet..but my only 'G' entry so far is from " Gentleman Products Omaha "
Got to wonder about that one...

Thank you

I recently obtained a box of close to 800 or more FT 243 xtals ,haven't counted them all yet, and was going through them looking for any useful freqs on the ham bands and noticed how many different companies were making xtals during the war. So far I've identified at least 45 companies making these xtals.
Is there any info out there that talks about how many companies were involved in making these xtals.
Thanks
