I have my father's from over 50 years ago and always wondered what it looked like inside.  I'm sure someone on the list might have some nice interior pix?

Hi Dennis - Yep, working via the removed bottom plate is about all one can do without getting destructive.  It works, but I like to inspect the results of my cleaning...haha

It's been years but I recall removing the bottom plate and maneuvering up a strip of DeOxit soaked paper between the contacts.

Might be blasphemous, but you might drill a hole in the side big enough to get a cleaning strip into the contacts.

OR: Maybe the upper contact can be unthreaded out to allow a thin wood rod to clean the inner contsct and the upper contact in your hand to get polished.

OR: does the bottom plate come off to allow access to the contacts?

Those are really good keys.  Mine is a real workhorse around here with the TCS, ARC-5 and the rest of the pile.  It has a good feel and of course, is authentic...  One issue is the flameproofness it is a bit problematic if you need to disassemble it to clean the contacts.  Tiny, tapered pins, precision dowel shaft etc.  Key Guru's advise that should be done by a good machinist with the proper tools (rather than my hammer and files...).  Anyone got helpful hints?   But still a winner around here, it has lots of miles on it...

Well, here's my key example, in situ, with a vintage ops position. Glad to find out it was sort of universal. Will be moving it over to the ARC-8 setup with a genuine ATC transmitter.
