With fewer and fewer aircraft with functional ADFs on board, excluding a few 3rd world areas, I wonder what the utility actually is. I have not looked at a FLIP or Jepp in a while but wonder how many approaches, much less enroute, are predicated on NDBs?  When I was at MHIC in the western Caribbean, in the pre-GPS days in the mid-70s, our HH NDB (SWA) on 407kHz (1000 watts) worked great with both marine and aviation. Nothing else around for 100s of miles.  Got SWLs from afar.  SWA is long gone, now. The nostalgia remains..... and, long live airways rotating beacons!!!

My first NDB beacon logging was actually through a wired intercom between two deer stands in south TX. The land was near a regional airport and I could hear the NDB over the intercom

Well, there's at least one nation left on Earth

can't get their GPS "crack cocaine" fix.

Just because we have a new "shiny" is no reason
to destroy something older which still works

modest up-keep.
