I’ve seen more and more estate sized sales and Chicago and Milwaukee area hamfests and even when I’m selling something I think is worth more, I end up taking less so I’m not hauling something home. American Pickers, epay, and PawnStars has given the impression that vintage items are commanding a high price
All I can hope for is whoever buys the lot is selling at a local fest and I can get the TCS gear which is on my “someday wishlist”

In my opinion, the healthier attitude is this: we don't own of this stuff; we're just caretakers. We don't buy this stuff; we just rent it. When the time comes, pass it along so someone else can enjoy it as much as we did. Keep the line moving.

Unfortunately, this is a problem in most hobbies. We live in a "Pawn Stars/Antique Roadshow/American Pickers" world where people are led to believe that if it's old, it's gold.
