First off, that should have been a TR-24-A, not T-24. Second, it was used to rotate an IFF antenna (AN-154) as part of a larger SCR-545 system which used a radar dish antenna mounted to a truck. We only have the center motor and gearbox, no mast or support legs.
I have purchased a hams estate in Northern Indiana and one item I and the widow would like to donate to a worthy cause is a T-24-A radar antenna rotor. By worthy cause I mean to a military museum, if possible. As I understand it, it was used in the field, not as a fixed base. It is signal Corp, not navy. Let me know here if there were other uses.
Feel free to cross post to any other mil groups.
It's big and heavy and I would prefer someone pick it up but I could try and make other arrangements if practical, meaning somewhere within a surrounding state. I will be at the site this week, Monday through friday 9/12-9/16
