They didn't use de.  It was vvv vvv vvv npg npg npg f f f. Repeated until there was traffic.  They identified as npg/nlk  when the two were keyed together.  I  don't remember if the other high power stations has a code letter. I uses to record the transmission s and plY them back at half speed for practice

Altho the call "VVV VVV VVV NPG/NLK" is burned into my mind, I do not actually recall the "DE" being sent.
Maybe some other OT can help me out. No, not "by the book", but by actually remembering it. Was super
good CW practice, as were the wx broadcasts of CKN.
