Skip,

I found one generic schematic that does not have an medium-Z tap on the output xfmr.

M y BC-946B schematic does have the tap your looking for,  That transformer seems to have 6 terminals.
If it's a early set, you may be out of luck.

I’m easily confused or maybe just short on patience.

I’m trying to change the output transformer impedance on my BC-946 to 300 ohms from the 5000 ohms. The manual instructions seem simple enough but the doing is more difficult. The schematic for T1 shows pins 3, 6, and unnumbered for the output winding. T1 in my unit is labeled 1, 2, 3, and 5. The neon is connected across 2 and 5.
Has my transformer been replaced? I can’t tell, the connections kind of look original.
If anyone can shed some light for me, thanks. Or if there is a “spare” T1 out there I would appreciate you contacting me.
It seems I should be able to measure primary and secondary resistance but so far have not had success.
In advance, thanks for help and comments.
