Your modulator is facing in the correct direction. If you look at the photos of the restored radio rooms onboard restored Bomber aircraft, you will notice that the modulator isn’t connected to anything, and is facing the wrong way. The cabling from the modulator to the receivers and transmitters actually were very neatly routed through the bulkhead so as not to create a large tangle of wires inside the radio compartment. The wire runs were nested and very deliberately run on the forward side of the radio room bulkhead, underneath the step you had to step over to get into the radio compartment and then re- routed back through the bulkhead to the transmitters an receivers. But doing all that is too much trouble for the owners, who are only really interested in flying the thing, to do, especially for radios they have no intention of ever operating.
