Hi, Hue. About putting these oscillators in tight places:
While working on the Alaska BLM Forestry transceiver,
I fitted one of the small 8-pin chips inside an FT-243 holder
for a receive channel crystal slot.

The holder had the chip, power wires, and a DC blocking
cap on the output pin. One of the little DC-DC converters
dropped the 12 VDC down to 6.5 (those chips were speced
for VCC to 7 volts and I wanted the extra output. I don't think
current ones can be "over-volted").

Those DC-DC converters can now be as small as a nickel and less
noisy.
You can run several oscillators on one DC-DC.
