I was measuring with my plastic calipers which are out on the bench all the time. So my "millage" may vary. But seem to be better than eyeballing against a ruler.

My good and better calipers are kept in the tool chest. Another of my "they're too nice to use everyday" situations.

And I don't own any "best" calipers. I'm too poor.
