Thank you for the great information, Dave! I've had my BC-430 on the bench the past couple evenings doing the basic inspection, cleaning, lubricating - one of my favorite parts of the process. I can see that someone has in there before. An octal plug is inside the rear connector housing - very nice. I traced out the wiring and made a chart showing the octal pin numbers and functions.

The attached "functional circuit diagram" has been a great help in learning my way around the rig...
