The 5763 was intended for RF service as an osc, multiplier, driver, or class C amp.  But I see no reason why it could not have been used for class A audio.  It had plenty of plate dissipation.  I don't know how it would perform distortion-wise as its linearity didn't matter for the RF applications.  It would just cost more for doing the same job as the 6AQ5.
