Seems Greenland is much in the news these days. Interesting history, including some WW2 action against German weather station crews.
NY Times has an article where i grabbed this photo, January 8 2026 "Grab Greenland ?"
More photos from other sources online.
I recall some decades ago, i saw in some display in Seattle a hoodie - type outer garment that came from the Viking era Greenland. Fascinating.
This former airbase is also mentioned in WW2 memoirs of flyers. Was a going place, then.
