I get about 1.5 watts out of the 6J6 tx, and the regen is very broad and not real sensitive,  but works good enough for contacts.
First I was
trying to build a clone of the Weston BN-1 single tube tx/rx, but the Rx in that clone didn’t work.
So I just followed the schematic of the 6SN7 more or less and it worked!
I have a recording of it around here somewhere.
You have a nice QRZ page!
I had a G-76 mobile once—you’re right, the rx was horrible!

I built a one tube 80 meter  transmitter / receiver using one 6J6 dual triode, one is the tx and the other the regen, and have worked several stations with it.
There is a picture on
my QRZ page.
Also built a single 6SN7 regen from the 1952 handbook and it works very well. Lots of QSOs with it and a Philmore NT-200 clone -6V6/6L6.

Regens are lots
of fun!
