[ARC5] Way Off Topic

I wondered if it was really possible to make actual contacts with the Walter Ashe 1-tube 
receiver. I should know the answer already, because i have quite a few QSLs from the early
1930s, and some of them list pretty basic receivers. 
I have the 'Western Radio, Kearney Nebraska'  1-tube ( 3A5 ) CW transceiver. One triode as
crystal osc, one as triode receiver; with an unpopulated tube socket cutout for a second
audio. Perhaps i'll take this up to my brother's place in August - - lots of really tall trees -
and see if it really can do "coast to coast".
