[ARC5] AR-88 Receiver question

I have an AR-88 in which I installed an S meter.  I do not have an AR-77 but will look at the schematic.  If the circuit is the same there may still be mechanical differences.  Most AR-88s were supplied without meters because they were in short supply and not thought necessary. They ate hard to find so if the AR-77 meter will fit its a find     The AR-88 is a remarkable receiver. I rebuilt mine because all of the paper caps were le a king oil. The m a in problem is that the chassis Weighs about 85 lbs.  The original version was built with no electrolytic caps. No audio cathode bypass cap because it uses back bias.   They were never sold commercially, only military contract and lend-lease. Probably more in Europe and Russia than the US. I was told the same S meter as used in the ARR-5, ARR-7 receivers can also be installed into the RCA AR-88 receiver. This seems unlikely to me,
but i have never owned an AR-88.  Is this reasonable and correct ?
 
( I think it’s a pretty nice receiver, but…just that it’s above my weight threshold. )
