Many thanks for the replies I received.
A tip of the hat to Brian VK2GCE who suggested that I use chassis
grommets! They worked great! I used 7/16 inch grommets. Installation
was easy; clean out the old material and install the grommet. If the fit
is correct, the stud will easliy rotate within the grommet.
