Thanks to everyone for the comments. Hue, I guess I'll find out about the
resistors if and when I ever get around to building the xmtr! I'm thinking
old technology, old tubes and old designs should work for old me (I'm 84
next month). Am thinking about using my BC-221 as the VFO (amplified a
bit) and feeding that into a 6AG7 buffer and an 807 final amp. Nice little
40 watt xmtr. Maybe two 807's...who knows; I have a half dozen of them.
Or 6146B's. But I have too many other projects to finish first. First step
is to fix the BC-221 which suddenly stopped working; I think it's just a
failure of the spring-loaded output wiper that feeds the the antenna
connection.
