$1500 ? For a BC-611, that’s high, even for two. $400 - $700 each, depending on model and condition ( working condition in the $500 - $700 each ). $1500 each is just plain stupid money. Glad I got mine over a two decades ago. I sure as hell wouldn’t pay $1500 for one now.

A BC-611 in working condition is priced higher not because it’s a great radio ( it isn’t ), but because of the collector value. And the last model ( “F” version ) should be priced lower (it’s far more common than the other models ). Of course, now the scammers are changing the id tags from the “F” model to the other, earlier models and increasing the asking price.

If you want to pay big money for a WW2 radio, find an early military aircraft 12 volt radio, or a late war ground forces 12 volt radio ( vehicle mount, not some little squad radio ) . In restored, complete ( with mounts, dynamotors and modulators, antenna, all cabling) and in working condition, they go in the $2000-$3500 range, depending on the radio. They are also far less of a pain in the butt to power up.

And if it’s all hacked up, it generally ain’t worth it, unless it’s super rare and you have no other choice if you want that rare radio model.

 Morning, Mike.
I can't speak for anyone else- for me,
the price of buying a nice working BC-611
crossed the "psycho-line" years ago.
(And I've decided I don't want things
I can't successfully repair any more).

I hope the owners like them, because they're
going to be using them for paper weights as we
who care about such things keep our appointment
with Judgment Day. Sad to think what their
grand kids will do with them when they finally
accept that they won't get $1500 for them any longer.
