[ARC5] Suspected A.R.C. antenna identification request

Colleagues,

I'd like to ask for help to identify the type of the L-shaped antenna 
used on the early U-2 airplanes. I presume that it was the A.R.C. Type 
A-15 VHF antenna inside an aerodynamic fairing since the A.R.C. Type 12 
VHF COM is known to have been used on such birds. On the prototype 
aircraft, the L-shaped antenna was mounted just under the cockpit, while 
the later production aircraft had the antenna moved toward the center 
part of the fuselage. Later, the A.R.C. Type 12 was removed from the 
U-2s and replaced with the AN/ARC-34 UHF.

The images are listed below. Please correct me if the said antenna was 
not VHF COM.
